Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell (born August 25, 1949) is an American television chef and host. Burrell was also an instructor for the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and also serves as the host of Worst Cooks in America. With her signature spiky blond hair and pumped-up personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of eating out and offers straightforward, simple techniques to master for the at-home cook on her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell also has worked in the top New York restaurants, has studied Italian food, its culture and traditions and has was a contestant on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in upstate New York, Chef Burrell developed a passion for cooking and eating from an early age. After obtaining an English and Communication degree at Canisius College in Buffalo NY she pursued her interest in the business of restaurant by enroling as a student at The Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America was an unforgettable learning experience for me. I couldn't learn enough couldn't accomplish enough, and I couldn't put in the effort enough. After graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) as she attended the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. In Italy, Chef Burrell gained an appreciation and appreciation for Italian culinary traditions. It had a significant effect on the way she thinks about food. Burrell is a celebrity ambassador to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which assists children with obstacles. She is a frequent guest to speak at conferences and tours across the nation to mentor others in her role. Anne has, through her whole cooking journey, has said that it's a pleasure to have the opportunity to share her passion for food with other people.
